Recap: 2015 NWR Dog Walk & Family Fair
Our 2015 Norwester Readers Dog Walk and Family Fair was gifted with a gorgeous spring day!
Registered walkers opted either for the 3 mile or the ½ mile mini walk. We had a variety of exhibitors, 25 raffle baskets, face painting, a professional pet and family photographer, police K-9, dancing dogs, an entertaining dog contest, carnival games . . . and much more!
We also offered both Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog testing.
Grateful thanks to all our sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped make the event a success.
Photographer Hillary Yasmer Shemin has made all Dog Walk & Family Fair photos available for purchase. 15% of profits on purchases made by May 31st, 2015 will be donated to Nor’wester Readers. There will not be a water mark on purchased prints.

2015 NOR’WESTER READERS DOG WALK AND FAMILY FAIR
Saturday, May 2, 2015 (rain or shine)
The Nor’wester Readers Dog Walk and Family Fair is the chief fundraising event for the Nor’wester Readers Canine Assisted Learning Program. It is an end of the school year celebration to spotlight the amazing work our therapy dogs do in public and private schools. The donations and sponsorships received through this event make it possible for us to continue offering our much needed and highly requested services.
We are also inviting organized groups such as girl/boy scouts, 4H, athletic teams, cheer teams, dog clubs, etc. of 10 or more individuals to walk free. Group registration should be done at the registration table the day of the walk. This is a wonderful opportunity for groups to spend time together at an exciting event and to support a worthy cause.

JON KATZ – “WHAT ANIMALS MEAN TO US”
is thrilled to announce that Jon Katz, New York Times best-selling author, has kindly offered to present a program to help raise funds for the Norwester Readers organization.
Jon will be speaking on the relationship between animals and humans, and his talk is titled WHAT ANIMALS MEAN TO US. The program will take place at Richboro Middle School at 98 Upper Holland Road in Richboro, PA. on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2pm. We will be offering some of Jons books for sale, and he has agreed to autograph your copies.
Jon has written twenty-seven books including: Saving Simon, Soul of a Dog, Izzy & Lenore, Rose In A Storm, A Good Dog, The Dogs of Bedlam Farm, and The Second Chance Dog. Katz is also a photographer and the author of two childrens books, Meet the Dogs of Bedlam Farm and Lenore Finds a Friend. He has written for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Slate, Rolling Stone, and the AKC Gazette. He has worked for CBS News, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. His popular Bedlam Farm Journal at www.bedlamfarm.com has four million views a year, about 400,000 of them unique visitors from all over the country.
Katz lives on Bedlam Farm in upstate New York with his wife, the artist Maria Wulf.
No one brings to life the remarkable bond between humans and their dogs like Jon Katz. He has warmed our spirits with enchanting tales and keen observations of his animal menageriethe dogs, cats, donkeys, and other residents of Bedlam Farm.
We are also offering DINNER WITH THE AUTHOR after the program at the Yardley Inn for 12 lucky individuals by advance reservation only.
